Elections produce a huge amount of data, from the number of registered voters to how many of those voters turn out to cast their ballots. Much of this data is of interest for research, but it can be difficult to navigate or even locate at all; each state has its own policies and practices that govern what data it makes available, how, and to whom.
For 2026, we are producing data guides that steer researchers through what data are available and where to find it for 11 states: Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, California, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, and Pennsylvania. As with the state reports, data guides will be available after these states' primaries, as they certify and share reporting numbers.
