California provides statewide and county-level data on election results, voter registration, turnout, and voting equipment. For those who are interested in taking a deeper dive into the state's available data, we have prepared a quick guide to the available data and where to find them.
California provides statewide and county-level data on election results, voter registration, turnout, and voting equipment, published on the Elections Statistics page through the Elections Division of the California Secretary of State. California’s individual-level voter file is not published online, but state law allows access for certain groups and individuals. The Secretary of State does not publish precinct-level results, which are compiled by California’s official redistricting database, and published individually by county election offices.
In this document, we identify the locations of the data and their dedicated webpages, and detail the variables provided by the state and by Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange, and Santa Clara counties.
